My projects!

Summer is here and I am out of school, so that means that I finally have time to work on our house!  Der has some ideas for the house too, but he is still in meetings and hasn't had much time yet to work on things.  I started with painting the laundry room/alcove--it was a gross brown/green color.  I also painted its hallway.  I still have the kitchen, batch, hallways, and 2 bedrooms to paint.  Then lastly, I'll get to our bedroom.  I am just excited to actually have a theme to each room--like actually have matching towels with the wall decor and such.  That is my dream.

So with a needed break from painting, I began a new project.  Der wants to landscape the backyard and the dogs never leave my rabbits alone, so I decided it was time to do something new for them.  We have some space on the side of our house that isn't being used for anything and over the past few weeks, a wilderness of sorts grew there.  It seemed the ideal place for a new bunny pen!  Most of this I renovated and designed and developed myself!  I felt so powerful with my hammer and nails and such!

This is the pen fenced on one side with our make-shift dog fence on one side and I used boards leftover from something for the other side.  I made a sliding door!

We moved the hutch inside and the bunnies find shade under it.

Look how big it is and how fun it is for bunnies!

I unscrewed two boards from the side of their hutch so the bunnies can go in and out.

Fun weeds by the back fence.

Boards put up for shade.

The bunnies like to dig, so I lined the fence with wire and rocks.  Hopefully no more escapees!

Oh and this is our porch right now.  It looks messy with storage, paint stuff, bunny stuff, and oh, there's a couch that affords comfortable sitting in the mornings in the cool porch.

Our new couch!  It's the kind I always wanted!  See the part on the end?  That's my seat.

Our new lamp.  I chose this one so I can crochet while we watch movies.  See the little lamp faced my way?

It is a separate TV room now.  Where to put the piano now?

That's our house updates!
