School's almost here!

I can hardly wait until school starts. So much for a summer off-isn't that the only plus to being a teacher-that you get a whole summer of vacation days? Says some. But hey, I became a teacher because I like doing teacher things: being in front of a small crowd of people with their attention completely on me, hanging on my every word, depending on me, and thinking that I am the smartest person in  their aquaintence. Well, that is nice, but really, it's the teacher things I love.  And of course, getting the chance to work with kids and steer them for the better. That starts in two short weeks and I can hardly wait; all the anticipation is about to over flow after building so much. Why am I so excited for this year? Because I have been on a team setting up a brand new school. We get all the bells and whistles, including the iPad from which I type. I love making documents and excel spreadsheets (my electronic lesson planner) and power point presentations and GSP sketches. I love it. I have been working on something or other almost every day all summer long. I am so super organized. Tuesday, Derrick helped me put the numbers of Pi around my room and now I am all ready to print disclosure documents and order tennis uniforms and equipment.  This is so exciting!
Thanks for sharing in my joy.
