I'm long-winded. I'm warning you. But I hope you have some fun reading what's going on with us. I sure have fun writing these and catching up with y'all also.

Last of September

So has anyone ever heard of the "God of lost keys"? I have heard that criticism of religion and prayer before, that God is not that; He couldn't be or why would He be but there are people on the other side of the world or right next door with far more serious needs.

But here's my point: God cares about each of us and the things we are worried about. We went to a Raspberry farm to pick raspberries. A friend met us, but otherwise, it was just the dog, the cat, and the goats. It was peaceful and therapeutic. Ted found a dump truck in a sandbox, a cat, and my keys and had fun just wandering.

There's the cat I think. At one point the cat let Ted put the lanyard around it.

He stopped to eat a raspberry here and there.

But as I went to pay for my raspberries, I could not find my $10 bill or my credit card. So here I am freaking out. I already put Ted's toys away, Claire is getting restless in the backpack. So I left Ted to his own devices, put Claire down in the grass, and pulled out my phone trying to figure out where I was when I pulled it out of my pocket to take pictures of Ted, thus freeing my pocket of its contents. And I prayed. I don't pray much these days. And they aren't very meaningful at that. I have my reasons. But I felt then that God cared about my kids and my stress level and wanted to help me if I asked. Oh and Claire was also missing a sock. And I found all three: the credit card, then the sock, then the $10 bill. All on a different row among the foliage of raspberry bushes. And within 5 minutes and I was able to collect my kids and our berries and keep everyone happy and safe.

Just one reason I'm a believer. God cares about me when I'm in a hopeless situation. Nothing looked familiar and all the rows looked like they had berries. I couldn't have figured it out on my own.

Anyway, we also went to Bridal Veil Falls:

And we learned soccer:

And proof that Claire crawls:
Proof that Claire and Ted can play together:

Claire is exploring:

She is standing up on anything and everything:
More playing together. We hijack our neighbor's yard. :/

  1. Thanks for sharing that story Linds. I agree that God cares about the little things in our lives because He wants us to trust Him and know He is there for us.

  2. Amen sister! He cares about the major things in your life and the small stuff. He is aware of your needs. Keep praying and answers will come. Thanks for sharing your experience.

  3. I wholeheartedly agree. God is in all the details of our life. He never leaves us--we are the ones who distance ourselves from him. Remember to thank Him as well. We should not just go to Him in our needs but also remember to thank Him for our blessings which we have everyday.
