Our Disney Trip was tons of fun. We didn't take a camera, so not a single picture came from it. It was fun, but I still think it would have been better with another couple. Then we would have had some other peeps to talk to while waiting in lines. Disney wasn't overly crowded, so we didn't wait in any line longer than 45 minutes--and that was only to Star Tours and Space Mountain. We rocked the single rider lines and were never in need of a fast pass. Hint: go on the water rides at night. It's really pretty and there are no lines. We went on both of them (Log Floom and River Rapids) twice each. [Apparently "floom" is not a word but that's what the ride is called in Texas or what my dad calls it or something.] I mean Splash Mountain.
I love Disney for the scenes on the rides. They do a good job. Cars was the best ride. Well done. We had three days; we used them but we didn't go crazy. Der bought a churro every day.
Day 1 began a 1 pm. We drove to Vegas on Tuesday night and finished the trip to Cali Wednesday morning. We did Disney Land on Wednesday and were dead tired by 9 pm. We did Star Tours, Captain E.O., Space Mountain, the hall of Innovations (a really cool model home was in there), saw little kids fight Darth Vader and Darth Maul, Thunder Mountain RR (Der's favorite), Pirates of the Carribean, Jungle Cruise, (Indiana was closed), tried Star Tours again but everyone showed up for the fastpass at the same time and the line was forever long, so we just rode the train around the village and called it a night. Well, we did go to a grocery store for some breakfast stuff (our hotel had a fridge and microwave) and some Chicken Nuggets. I downed 15 I think all by myself.
Thursday we did California Adventure hitting Cars first, we toured the Boudin Bakery, the Ariel ride (and he kissed the girl!), Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel, Monsters Inc., and saw a 45 minute version of Aladdin. The genie was great! Jasmine sang a new song about herself--or rather wanting to be loved for herself. It was very good. Then we were hungry and tired, so we left the park and went to Seal Beach. And yes, we saw a seal swimming in the tide. Way cool! We ate at this place called Hennesey's (like Bennigan's). It was so delicious! Der got surf and turf (on a beach restaurant is where you want to get seafood) and I got this burger on parmesan sourdough. YUM! We took a nap and then headed back into California Adventure. I was impatient to get back, but Der was thinking that we had plenty of time. We did Soarin' over California, Bug's Life movie (and yes I squealed), Grizzly River Rapids, and World of Color. It is fun to see the projections on the water and such. Then we went over to Disney Land again and did the Log Floom, the Matterhorn, and saw Mickey's Fantasmic. I love seeing the princesses dance with their princes!
Friday was our day to do everything else. We started with Cars again, but I waited in line while Der did Tower of Terror. (Not my favorite with the drops.) We had to get another sourdough bread bowl, but with good soup this time. We saw a Prep and Landing Christmas 3D movie. We walked around the animation studio and talked to Crush. Then we went back to Disney Land. We did the Mr. Lincoln, Toy Story Astro Blasters, Sleeping Beauty's castle, Pirates again, explored Tom Sawyer's Island, and ended with Space mountain somewhere around 4. We were all done with lines! So we went back to our hotel and ended up enjoying the hot tub for a bit that evening. Oh ya, I felt like Italian and longed for a "Lasagna House III" or rather, just a little hole in the wall italian place. And I found one that was EXCELLENT! Great food with foccacia bread and olive oil to dip it in. Alfredo, Lasagna, and Chicken Parm were delicious!!! I usually don't like lasagna from restaurants, so that's really saying something.
So we left Saturday morning and drove back all day including a drive through Las Vegas (my idea, not Der's--he didn't like it at all). We spent the night at Der's brother's house so we could vacation from church as well. In the beginning, I got a sub for my calling because I didn't know when we would be driving back. Our dogs were well taken care of by Jon and Rachel and Josie and Jupiter. They had a great time. When the door opened on Sunday and they saw us, they didn't know what was up at first and then 5 seconds later, they went crazy for 20 minutes with delight to see us again. It was super cute. It was really great of Jon and Rachel to take care of them for us so we could have a great vacation worry-free! We needed it!
