Us at Tuachan |
We went to see Aladdin at Tuachan in St. George. It wasn't that great. No flying carpet, no Abu, no Raja, no Iago. Well, okay Iago is there as a person. But c'mon! Those characters were the best part of the movie! The Genie was excellent and actually was able to perform some tricks on the live stage. Yes, he was blue and yes he flew sometimes. He was a hoot. There was one extra song that I liked and the rest I thought were awkward and didn't fit. Aladdin has 3 friends in the show who narrate in a meta way. They talk to the audience and stuff--one time a character asked for a program to see when Aladdin would come on stage. So it was fun, but I don't suggest anyone to see this new broadway "hit". I do suggest The Little Mermaid that I saw last year, however. The music and extra songs are excellent! Tuachan is fun because it is outdoor, they can flood the stage with water, fly characters, do fireworks, and have camels and horses cross the stage. Oh ya, they did do a flying carpet during A Whole New World. They flew over the whole entire audience!
A view of Backstage |

As far as the camping: We ate turtle dinners, swam, slept well, ate scones for breakfast. We ate and packed up in about an hour. Excellent timing, eh? We went on a hike in St. George in the red rocks. We followed a Pioneer Hills trail for some of it and other parts just hiked and explored over the red rocks. We even saw a jackalope! Or something like that...
We also toured the Brigham Young House there. Very interesting. And we dropped in on an Art Gallery. He's good.
